How Often Should You Post on Social Media?
So how often should you post on social media? Managing your own social media is time consuming, and can be a little overwhelming with everything else that you have to to run your business. But it is SO important to keep your digital presence fresh, and to keep attracting your customers, new or old.
Social media is your best on the ground path to customers on any of the platforms that you may be using. We all know this. It’s a billboard in the palm of your hand.
So how often really should you be posting? Well, in all honesty, it can differ for every brand, or every kind of company.
It depends on the audience you are trying to reach, the amount of content you are creating, and the kind of industry you are in.
For instance, an artistic photography company can post multiple times a day, with behind the scenes shots and final images, as a single session can yield 50 amazing shots. This represents a service that is pushing to an artistic base, a base that likes to see inspiring imagery every day.
Let’s say it’s a luxury retail shop, who should post 5 times a week. They can show off their brands they have in store, their experience they offer to customers, as well as helpful advice to the kind of audience they are selling to. This represents the retail industry that relies heavily on enticing sales to their base, but also wants to build a community around the kind of products they sell.
Or let’s say it’s an individual artist, who only posts 3 times a week. There can be a variety of showing their work, promoting events, and inviting their audience to see inside their process. This humanizes their creations and makes people WANT to buy their artwork as they get connected with the purpose behind what they are creating.
So figuring out what works best for you, is to evaluate what you are selling, and who you are selling it to. You don’t want to oversaturate your feed, or someone else because they could stop paying attention. You could spread your content way too thin.
However, posting too little can mean your audience’s attention can be going elsewhere. We suggest that 3 times a week, is the minimum if you want to start making any kind of impact.
And of course, stories, hashtags, content quality, and engagement with your audience will make the biggest difference. But that a conversation for another time.
We suggest 3 times a week with consistent engagement as the minimum. You need this if you want to start making any kind of impact.
